Sadly, Mairi Mills is no longer working at Bede House. She sends this message to all those she has worked with over the last 10 years.
“Personally, working at Bede since 2002 has been overwhelmingly positive for me, and I am pleased that though I am leaving, and hope eventually to move out of London, I will continue to have links with the area..... I have enjoyed working with you, and wish you the very best in your future work, both as individuals, and collaboratively.”

Vivien Palmer is the Central Office and Communications Manager for Bede. She co-ordinates
the Friends of Bede, which is made up of people who support Bede’s work in various
ways. She also manages the Bede website. You can find out more about becoming a
Friend of Bede below.

The Big Local In South Bermondsey
The Big Lottery Fund has invested £200m in a new trust to fund Big Local, to help up to 150 areas in England become better places to live, now and in the future. South Bermondsey will get at least £1million of Lottery money over 10 years. The Big Local trust will look after the money for all the areas, but local people will decide how it is spent.
Big Local wants local people to work together to decide what their area needs or what can be improved to make it a better place to live and the scheme has chosen South Bermondsey as one of its first 50 areas for a 10 year investment in the community. A small grant has been given to South Bermondsey to help local people think about how they would like their area to change over the next ten years. The South Bermondsey Partnership (SBP) is overseeing this work, and local charities Bede and Time and Talents have been working with the Tenants and Residents Associations on Avondale, Astley Cooper, Ledbury, Caroline Gardens and Bonamy and Bramcote to start discussing the issues.
